I don’t think Comcast pulled a soup Nazi on Netflix, ok maybe a small one. I mean why in the world would Comcast want a partnership with the thorn in their side? Comcast has a bit of streaming programming itself so I guess Netflix figured what is the worst they could say, no? I can see the difference in the company for last year to this year in what can be described as the trifecta of mistakes. Netflix finds new ways to goof up, first the price increase to acquire more streaming, the short lived Qwikster, and then losing 800+ streaming titles from Starz after the price increase. Now Netflix has a stressed subscriber base and want to find an influx of new subscribers and quick, but I don’t see them getting to warm of a reception in the industry because providers have made their own services. Working at DISH I have seen companies stumble and have to correct a mistake before, but to me Netflix seems like an awkward teenager that isn’t close to being used to their new legs. Although it does make me breathe a little easier after getting the Blockbuster @home package, on top of the DVD by mail and 20 movie channels added to my DISH receiver, I have thousand of streaming titles, including everything in the Starz catalog.
